ReConnection
Harp meets percussion. Healing meets hope.
A spellbinding new work by composer Jill Jarman, performed by percussion legend Dame Evelyn Glennie and harp virtuoso Catrin Finch. Created for the post-Covid moment, ReConnection turns our shared experiences of isolation into a live journey towards trust, unity and joy.
What you’ll experience
Two world-class soloists, one conversation: harp and percussion answering each other across the stage, dissolving divides through sound.
A narrative of repair: movements that move from strain to stillness, from fragmentation to belonging.
Acoustic intimacy: designed to work beautifully without amplification, inviting audiences to listen deeply together.
Why now
ReConnection speaks to the big themes of our time: how communities rebuild trust, how people find their voice, and how art can bridge identities and generations. It’s music as civic connection, audiences don’t just attend; they feel part of a wider “us.”
Creative team
Dame Evelyn Glennie: the world’s foremost solo percussionist; over 40 solo recordings, multiple GRAMMYs, a lifelong mission to Teach the World to Listen.
Catrin Finch: the “Queen of Harps,” redefining the instrument across classical and global traditions.
Jill Jarman (Associate Artist): composer and jazz pianist; her Across the Divide series brings so-called “peripheral” instruments and players centre-stage, challenging assumptions and opening doors.
Themes we explore
From separation to solidarity: a hopeful arc that mirrors how communities heal.
Listening as power: deep listening as a route to respect, participation and shared purpose.
Belonging: space for everyone, whether you’re a first-time attender or a seasoned concertgoer.
