Box Office / Ticketing Support (On-site), St Osyth Summer Sounds

We’re looking for a friendly, calm and practical Box Office / Ticketing Support person to join the team at St Osyth Summer Sounds on 18–19 July.

This is an on-the-day problem-solving role. We use a simple Ticketmaster ticket system, and you’ll support the entry team by helping stewards and volunteers scan tickets, resolving ticket issues, and answering questions from festival-goers.

Job Description: Box Office / Ticketing Support

Role purpose

To ensure festival entry runs smoothly by providing on-site support for ticket scanning and troubleshooting, and by handling ticket-related questions quickly and professionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Support stewards and volunteers with ticket scanning at entry.

  • Troubleshoot ticket issues on the day (e.g., problems scanning, duplicate tickets, missing confirmations, entry queries).

  • Answer ticket-holder questions clearly and calmly, keeping queues moving where possible.

  • Liaise with the wider festival team when an issue needs escalation.

  • Keep an eye on common issues and share quick guidance with the entry team to reduce repeat problems.

  • Provide a friendly, welcoming presence at the festival entrance.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Confident using basic tech (smartphone/tablet apps, scanning, searching for bookings).

  • Calm and solutions-focused under pressure (especially when there are queues).

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly communication style.

  • Reliable and punctual, able to work independently.

Desirable

  • Experience in events, front-of-house, box office, or customer support.

  • Comfortable supporting volunteers/stewards and giving clear instructions.

Availability

  • Must be available on site for both days: 18 & 19 July.

  • You should be able to work the full event day (exact call times will be shared in advance).

Fee

  • £200 per day (2 days) = £400 total.
