In ReConnection at Perth Theatre and Concert Hall, composer Jill Jarman brings together two of today’s most distinctive musical voices: pioneering percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie and internationally celebrated harpist Catrin Finch. Conceived in response to the post‑Covid landscape, the work asks a simple but urgent question: how do we find our way back to one another after a time of distance?

Across a sequence of contrasting movements, harp and percussion circle, challenge and embrace one another. Taut, fractured rhythms gradually give way to stillness and flow; moments of tension open into spacious, shimmering textures. The result is a live journey from isolation towards trust, solidarity and a renewed sense of “us”.

Known for her mission to “teach the world to listen”, Glennie’s extraordinary palette of timbres meets Finch’s lyrical, genre‑defying approach to the harp, drawing audiences into an experience that feels both intimate and expansive.
