No Lander by Riccardo Buscarini
A simply constructed work that swells with poetic significance (Sanjoy Roy, LondonDance) CREATIVES Riccardo Buscarini – Choreographer Martin Collins – Producer Mariana Camiloti – Rehearsal Director Michael Mannion – Lighting Designer Domenico Angarano – Sound Artist DANCERS Andrew Gardiner, Josh Jones, Marc Stevenson, Ben Wisken & Lewis Wilkins 9 October - Bath Spa University 12 October - UCLAN, Preston 22 October - Axis Arts Centre 28 October - The Place, London Five sailors lost at sea are exposed to an unrelenting space, nothing to hang onto, no roots, no light and no land. Falling in and out of intricate duets as they grapple to hold on to something, their flesh emerges from the darkness in waving and sculptural torsions. Stark industrial lighting and live-captured sound collide and transform the stage into a deserted wreck. No Lander is a danced maritime poem about longing and belonging. No Lander is commissioned by The Place with support from ResCen at Middlesex University, TIR Danza (Italy), supported by Arts Council England and produced by Artstrust Productions. Originally developed as part of ArtsCross London 2013, a project by ResCen/Middlesex University Technical Rider Marketing Pack Photos by Veronica Billi
