Following an outstandingly successful visit to the USA before Christmas as part of Montclair State University's Peak Performance Season, the dancers are now back in the studio preparing for their Spring 2013 UK tour.
At New Wimbledon Theatre on Saturday 9th February at 7.30pm the Company is delighted to be presenting the world premiere of Alston's newest work Buzzing Round the Hunisuccle.
Buzzing Round the Hunisuccle contrasts three short Jo Kondo compositions. The rapid light rhythms of Isthmus (which was choreographed in 2012), the brisk and asymmetric An Elder's Hocket, and the calm-hushed chords of Hunisuccle have inspired Alston to create movement of nimble and breathtaking precision.
The performance will also include the newly revived and substantially revised The Devil in the Detail, inspired by the music of ‘King of Ragtime‘ Scott Joplin. Madcap completes the programme - Martin Lawrances's latest work for the Company to the explosive music of Julia Wolfe, a dark and highly physical tour-de-force. Don't miss out on the only opportunity to see Alston's repertoire performed in London this tour. You can book tickets via the New Wimbledon Theatre box office on 0844 871 7646 or book online here. There will be a pre-show talk with Richard Alston at 6.30pm, please ask the box office for further details.
