This year and next year Darren Ellis Dance, artist in residence at DanceEast, will be working on a new family show (subject to funding), supported by DanceEast, The Place, English Folk Dance and Song Society and Arts Depot.
In 2013, we will conduct research and development on a dance vocabulary that can be executed on an unstable surface, and explore the range of movement that can be performed in this environment, finding out the possibilities and the limitations this will have on the physicality of the performers.
We will be trying to find balance in an unstable world, cause and effect, and dealing with new challenges of ever changing environments. The concept aims to explore themes of old folk lore, myths and legends, playing with the ideas of factual accounts that are exaggerated over time.
Please apply online at http://www.darrenellisdance.co.uk/audition.html
